Axiom has demonstrated commitment to the local environment by planting 100 trees at our Newbridge site.
As an extension of our continued efforts to drive environmentally friendly manufacturing practices, Axiom’s team have completed our 100-tree challenge. The employee-led initiative has seen Japanese Flowering Cherry trees planted across our extensive 30-acre grounds over the course of just one week.

Axiom’s championing of sustainable industry practises is well recognised in its sector. Nevertheless, our team believe that this commitment should go beyond the factory floor. The tree planting initiative was created as a demonstration of our collective commitment to taking sustainability seriously.

In Japanese culture, cherry blossoms symbolise spring, renewal, and the fragility of life and nature. Our trees now stand as a reminder of our duty to keep sustainable practices at the core of our values.
The 100 cherry trees have been transplanted under the watchful eye of Safety/Light Facilities Supervisor, Lorna Davies.

Commenting on her team’s work and the aim of the 100 tree Challenge, Lorna said: “Every member of Axiom understands why we must take our commitment to sustainability seriously. So when the challenge was proposed, this activity, as part of the ongoing environmental focused projects,  was immediately supported.

“The cherry blossom was chosen to help us all reflect upon how delicate nature is, and why it is our responsibility to protect it. Planting 100 trees in just a week required a real team effort, but the reactions and support we’ve received from our colleagues has been fantastic.

“The trees are a wonderful addition to our local environment that I’m sure will support the wellbeing of all who enjoy them. The fact that they blossom for just four weeks a year should remind us how we must appreciate and respect the world we live in.”

The 100 Tree Challenge is just the latest home-grown environmental project undertaken by Axiom’s team.

Our site also houses beehives to support over 80,000 honeybees that pollinate the surrounding woodland Honey produced by the bees is sold to our employees and in the locality to fund neighbouring environmental education initiatives.
